EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Widens Saudi Airspace Warning

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has expanded its advisory for Saudi Arabian airspace following recent Houthi missile strikes on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. The new advisory now includes areas in northwestern Saudi Arabia, citing the Houthis' demonstrated capability to strike targets deep within the kingdom.

EASA warned of an "increased risk of misidentification of civil aircraft" due to the frequent activation of air defense systems and falling debris from interceptions. The announcement coincided with significant flight disruptions, with over 130 cancellations reported at Riyadh airport. Major regional airlines have also begun suspending or rerouting flights to several Saudi destinations in response to the growing security risks.
