France and Saudi Arabia are currently exploring military cooperation options to enhance the security of the Yanbu oil terminal. General Fabien Mandon, France's Armed Forces Chief of Staff, confirmed during a parliamentary hearing that several options involving French military assets are under study.
This initiative follows recent Houthi threats against Saudi energy infrastructure and deadly attacks on international airports in Riyadh and Abha. France has already deployed approximately 2,000 troops to the region to support its Gulf allies and has expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the face of these escalating attacks.
